Music Monday III

It's MONDAY MONDAY MONDAY! Here are a few songs I've been listening to lately.

Note: they may be on the more mellow/down side but seems fitting lately. Also you guys seemed to like it when I wrote out my favorite lyrics to each song last time, so I included them again this go around :)

City and Colour - "Little Hell"
I have loved Dallas Green since Alexisonfire to be honest. I loved that he was this polar opposite vocal in their band and when he started doing City and Color I was a happy lady. I didn't keep up with him when it came to this release (it was released last year) but I recently got to it and it was one of those things that just seemed to come at the right time.
Favorite Lyric : "My war ships are lying off the coast of your delicate heart, and my aim is steady and true, as it's been right from the start."

La Sera - "Break My Heart"
I came across La Sera sometime last year via a cover she did of "Dedicated To The One I Love" (if you can find it, listen to it). I like the mix of a pretty lady vocal mixed with a lite-punk sound. Does that make sense? It does in my mind...
Favorite Lyric : "You're my world but I've thrown you to the wind. I'm a liar but I need you as a friend."

Youth Lagoon - "Afternoon"
I think I randomly heard Youth Lagoon on Spotify and simply loved the dream-like state I found myself in when listening to it. I enjoy the muffled sound but I also hate it because I tend to get frustrated when I don't understand what the artist is singing about. But that's what google is for, right?
Favorite Lyric : "I'm thinking of you dear, every moment of the way. I tied my hands with rope, now watch you escape."

Wolfpup - "Always"
No need to talk much about "Always" because you all have probably had it on repeat and downloaded it since I first used this in my Vlogs with Misha. He had been working on this song for ages and I even remember some of the early stages when I'd be sitting in his room while he tried to work out pieces in frustration. Ultimately it makes me really happy for him that he finally finished it and that you all love it as much as I did the first time I heard it. I can't wait to hear what he has in store for the rest of his EP.
Favorite Lyric : "I try to recall the way, that you move in the mornings."

ALSO (in case you didn't notice) due to some of your requests he has gotten a YouTube channel! So subscribe to YouTube.com/Wolfpupmusic and be sure to keep your eyes and ears peeled for more things to come! I'm keeping the few ideas he has so far a secret but until then, watch his cover of Nick Drake's "Place To Be" he recorded a few years ago and posted on his channel :)

Have a great week everyone! <3

  4. I'm a big Dallas Green/ Alexisonfire fan as well. It broke my heart when I heard they were breaking up. If this is true or not, idk. I'm pretty horrible at keeping up with my favorite bands. I'm usually about 3 albums behind. If it wasn't for Youtube (since I don't listen to the radio much) I would never hear new music.
I'm gonna have to get into La Sera. Your favorite lyric literally calls out to an internal conflict I'm currently having. I'm unsure what to do. Everyday I feel more and more rotten about it. I'm probably not handling it well.
Anyway. Thanks for sharing, Claire! This Music Monday you're doing is great.
